Sachin Tendulkar missed out on his 100th international century but helped India claim a five-wicket win in the opening Test against West Indies.
The 38-year-old legend became the first batsman to reach 15,000 Test runs but remains on 99 hundreds across Tests and one-dayers after being dismissed for 76 by Devendra Bishoo.
India won their first Test in seven just after lunch on Wednesday as they reached their target of 276. It was also India’s first Test win since June, having drawn twice with West Indies in the Caribbean and then losing 4-0 to England. The second Test starts in Kolkata on Monday.
