The Western Union/National Concrete Challengers have much to prove.
They ended the local women’s softball league fourth in the standings. Now they face a major test in the Caledonian Wildcats, the defending champions and the top team this season.
Both clubs take to the Cayman Islands Little League’s Field of Dreams at 8.30pm this Sunday 5 June. The match is part of the Cayman Islands Softball Association Female League playoffs. Also in action at the same venue and time are the CADC Stingers and Cayman National Bank/Lee’s Office Team Xtreme.
Winners of each game will move on to the finals where they will be playing a best-of-three series. The finals are scheduled to be played 12 and 19 June. If necessary, game three would be played on 26 June.
After the postseason concludes, players will be invited to join the team attending the Nicaraguan International Softball Tournament. This year’s event will be held on Corn Island, Nicaragua 2-5 September.
