The Cayman Islands Governor’s Office announced Thursday that Anwar Choudhury has officially been removed from his post as governor.
“Following an investigation into a number of allegations Mr. Choudhury will not return to the Cayman Islands as Governor, but will return to another diplomatic posting in London,” read a government press statement.
“A short term successor will be appointed soon while the recruitment process for a permanent replacement is underway.”
The statement noted that there will be no further comment from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office on Mr. Choudhury’s removal.
