Three years may have gone by since Wentworth Ebanks’ only son Darrington was gunned down while hanging out with friends on Christmas Day, but the pain of that loss still remains fresh in the West Bay father’s memory.

Christmas Day will forever be a painful reminder for relatives of 29-year-old Darrington Ebanks of the tragedy they suffered when the West Bay father was shot dead in 2018.

As the Cayman Compass Cold Case series enters its second season, Detective Sergeant Peter Dean, head of the RCIPS Serious Crime Review team, said leads are coming in on the unsolved murders, but more public input is needed to crack the cases.

Over the last nine months, the Cayman Compass embarked on a special multi-media series, in partnership with the RCIPS, to shine the spotlight on the unsolved cases.  Working with the Serious Crime Review team, led by Detective Sergeant Peter Dean, Compass journalists Reshma Ragoonath and Alvaro Serey delved into the circumstances of eight of these cases, some of which have remained open and under investigation for a decade.
