
A team of 14 athletes from six different sports will travel to Colombia later this month to represent the Cayman Islands at the Junior Pan American Games.
The athletes will compete in swimming, athletics, gymnastics, squash, cycling and artistic swimming.
The selections that the Cayman Islands Olympic Committee announced on Wednesday, 3 Nov., include cyclist Nathaniel Forbes, and Lacee Barnes and Olympian Shalysa Wray in athletics.
Six athletes will represent Cayman in the pool. Alexandria Owen and Abbie Carnahan will take part in the artistic competition.
Cayman’s youngest Olympian, swimmer Jillian Crooks, will mark her first international sprint event since the 2020 Tokyo Games. She will be joined by her older brother Jordan Crooks, Kyra Rabess and Raya Embury-Brown.
Squash players Jade Pitcairn, Emma Turnbull and Kali Maclean, and gymnasts Igor Magalhaes and Karthik Adapa were named in October.
The games are scheduled to take place in Cali, Colombia from 25 Nov. to 4 Dec.
