A 27-year-old East End man faces gun-related charges after police said they recovered a loaded handgun while executing a search warrant.
The search was conducted at a George Town residence by firearms officers with the assistance of the K-9 unit, according to a Royal Cayman Islands Police Service statement on Saturday 13 Nov.
“[The man] has now been formally charged with Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm, Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm (Ammunition), and [causing] intentional Harassment Alarm or Distress,” the statement said.
Police have not named the man. They said he appeared in Summary Court on Friday 12 Nov., and was granted bail “with strict conditions”.
He is due to return to court on Tuesday 16 Nov.
