Police responded to a report of a disturbance at a West Bay residence on Flute Lane shortly before midnight on 31 Dec. Several people reportedly exited a dark truck wielding machetes at the address, where a gathering was taking place.
Two people suffered serious injuries in the ensuing altercation, and another person had minor injuries. All three were transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital.
At the hospital, police arrested a 24-year-old man from West Bay on suspicion of wounding.
The suspect remains in custody at the detention centre as investigations continue.
