The Cayman Islands Football Association announced on Wednesday that both Alliance SC and Latinos FC have been expelled from the CIFA 2021-2022 Men’s Premier League.
The CIFA executive committee made the decision on Tuesday, 25 Jan., as a result of the teams forfeiting two consecutive matches.
“As such, all matches marked as ‘forfeited’ by these teams will be cancelled,” CIFA told the Cayman Compass. “The [Cayman Premier League] now will be played with only eight teams and the promotion/relegation criteria remains the same.”
CIFA rules state that, under the termination order, a member club or team will be expelled from a single-age-group competition if it forfeits two matches in that group in a season.
