Jasmine Palliative & Hospice Care is taking to the streets from 25-26 Feb. to raise awareness and collect much-needed funds for those in Cayman requiring palliative or end-of-life care.
Nearly 400 volunteers will be positioned outside businesses and retailers across all three islands on the weekend, offering passers-by the chance to support the organisation.
Now in it’s 22nd year, Flag Day is the biggest community awareness fundraiser Jasmine has, and this year promises to be even bigger. Local company Davenport Development has issued a challenge to groups and businesses to ‘adopt-a-spot’ by providing volunteers to collect funds and match every donation received at their adopted spot. The company with the largest overall donation to Jasmine will win The Flag Day Trophy.
Jasmine’s marketing and fundraising manager, Ansley Easterlin, said, “This is an extremely exciting new way for the community to get involved – a friendly competition that will, at the end of the day, help Jasmine care for those… facing some of life’s biggest challenges. It’s perfect!”
How can you help?
Jasmine is calling on everyone in Cayman and abroad to make an impressive show of how the #CaymanKind community will unify in support of friends and neighbours battling chronic or life-limiting illnesses, or requiring end-of-life care. You can help by supporting Jasmine volunteers, making a donation at one of the collection locations, or by giving online at www.jasmine.ky/donate.
