George Town man admits to gun charges

Patrick Derval Williams of George Town has pleaded guilty to two charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm.

Appearing before the Grand Court, via video link, on Friday, 13 May, Williams, 26, admitted to having in his possession a loaded handgun at a Shedden Road bar earlier this year.

According to police, a raid was conducted at the bar on 21 March, at which time Williams attempted to evade officers but was detained and searched. During that search, the handgun was found in his possession.

Williams was one of nine persons arrested during that raid.

He has been remanded into custody with sentencing set for 29 July.
