Members of the Seven Mile Swimmers club filled a ‘wish list’ of The Pines, donating items that the retirement home needed.

The club’s community outreach group collected and donated the wish list items as it wanted to “instil in our swimmers the importance of caring for and looking after the older generation in the community and solidify the values of working together to assist others,” the club said in a statement.

The donations were delivered to collection points and collated, ready for presentation to The Pines on Saturday, 21 May.

“Our swimmers were keen to present the items to residents – in doing so they can see for themselves and understand the difference teamwork can make both in the community just as it does in the pool,” the club said.

It thanked Book Nook and Fashions Affair for their generosity and assistance in this project.
