QEII Botanic Park 5K to raise funds for Children’s Garden

The giant Bird Nests, created by sculptor Tansy Maki, are just a small part of the Children's Garden.

The public is invited to join the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park’s 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, 17 July, starting at 6:30am.

This will be a fundraising event for the continued development of the park’s Children’s Garden, which has made progress in the past year, but still needs additional support.

The park management hopes runners, walkers and residents of all ages will come out to participate, and therefore assist the initiative. The garden is an integral tool for passing on a love of the environment to young ones, through entertaining and interactive means.

Additional parking will be available at the Water Authority Compound on Botanic Road until 10am on race day.

The entry fee is $25 and includes a T-shirt, chip timing, post-event refreshments and the prize ceremony.
