CG BritCay kicks off summer internship programme
Four students have started summer internships with CG BritCay to learn professional skills, gain industry knowledge and explore future career possibilities.
They are part of the Coralisle Group (CG) Summer Internship Programme, which is designed to expose the students to the ins and outs of the insurance business and attaches them to departments that align with their academic and career interests. Their activities will include a 10-week group project, team-building exercises, and community service days.
They will also attend various information sessions with CG managers on subjects such as cyber security, regulatory compliance, legal affairs, investing and managing personal finances, environmental social governance, as well as personal career and brand development, the insurer said in a press release.
In addition, each student will have a dedicated mentor to provide guidance and support throughout the programme, along with advice and direction on resume writing, interview skills and networking opportunities.
The students who have secured internships with CG BritCay are Emily Bodden, Jacey Dyer, Genelle General, and Janani Kumar.
Kirk ISS named 2022 Microsoft partner of the year in Cayman
Kirk Information Solutions and Services (Kirk ISS) has won the 2022 Microsoft Country Partner of the Year Award for the Cayman Islands.
The software provider recognised Kirk ISS for delivering security-centric Microsoft solutions in the financial services industry. These solutions used Microsoft technology to secure the systems of financial firms and helped to verify compliance with data protection regulations such as GDPR and the Cayman Islands Data Protection Act.
The Microsoft Country Partner of the Year Award acknowledges outstanding achievements and innovations from Microsoft partners at the country level, highlighting partners that have built solutions and services on the Microsoft cloud and who have had substantial growth in their customer base and/or revenue.
The awards are announced each year prior to the company’s global partner conference, Microsoft Inspire, which will take place on 19-20 July this year.
Logic, VertiCast agree channels broadcast deal
Logic has signed a carriage agreement with VertiCast Media Group (VertiCast) for the broadcast of their 3 sports channels – CSport, CSport 2, & CSport+.
Broadcast of the CSport channels will begin the last week of July, two weeks prior to the kick-off of the 2022/2023 Premier League season.
Earlier this year regional broadcaster and distributor VertiCast announced that it had acquired the exclusive rights in the Caribbean to the Premier League and would launch its channels this summer.
In addition to all of the Premier League matches being carried on the CSport channels, for the first-time multiple matches will be made available from the NFL on Sundays plus coverage of Thursday night games, Thanksgiving Day games and playoff games.
The agreement signed between the companies runs through 2025.
“This agreement with VertiCast will allow Logic to provide our subscribers with continued access to the best in sports action across our Pay-TV services.” said Logic’s GM Video Operations, Darryl Hather.
