The Department of Education Services is advising parents and guardians that standard student registration has now closed for the 2022/2023 academic year, but late applications will be accepted throughout July and August.

The department also noted in a press release that requests for student transfers received on or after 16 June will be processed no earlier than 8 Aug.

The DES advised that the following Year Groups are closed for the 2022/2023 academic year:

  • Primary Schools
    • Prospect Primary School: Year 1, Year 5 and Year 6
    • Red Bay Primary School: Reception and Year 1
  • Secondary Schools
    • John Gray High School: Year 7, Year 8, Year 9 and Year 11
    • Clifton Hunter High School: Year 7, Year 8, Year 9 and Year 11

The department stated that it does not accept student registration or transfer requests for applicants entering Year 11, as students must attend a school in Years 10 and 11 to ensure they have completed the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) course.
