Motorists can expect delays in downtown George Town on Thursday and Friday, 16 and 17 Feb., as sections of roads will be closed for the inaugural Town Market event.
Between 7pm Thursday and 11pm Friday, the following closures will be in place:
- Cardinall Avenue will be closed between Albert Panton Street and Edward Street.
- Albert Panton Street will be closed between Cardinall Avenue and just south of Butterfield Bank.
Motorists travelling in the area during these times are advised to exercise caution.
The road closures are being put in place to accommodate the Town Market on Friday, between 3pm and 8pm, along Cardinall Avenue and Albert Panton Street.
The Town Market is being hosted by the Department of Agriculture, the Cayman Islands Agricultural Society and the George Town Revitalisation Initiative in the run-up to the 54th Agriculture Show on Ash Wednesday. They aim to highlight the island’s fresh food and artisan producers in the heart of George Town.
There will also be music and entertainment, as well as selection of games, a play area for children, and a mechanical bull on Albert Panton Street.
