Cayman sailor Matheo Capasso sailed for Tulane University this past weekend at the SEISA Open Team Race Championship. Capasso and teammates from host Tulane won handily, collectively scoring nine wins and zero defeats.
Capasso teamed up with Thad Lettsome, a Tulane junior from the British Virgin Islands, with their combined weight and skill giving them an advantage on the windy day.
Together they won seven of the nine races sailed. Tulane’s overall score qualified them for the NCAA Division I Nationals at the US Merchant Marine Academy in New York next month.
