Butterfield Bank’s online banking services will be unavailable this weekend as it updates its system, the bank has advised.

The systems will go offline at 4pm on Friday, 6 Oct. until 9am on Monday, 9 Oct. All its banking centres will close from 2pm Friday, and resume at 9am Monday.

The bank, in a release issued last week, stated that throughout the weekend, its debit and credit cards can be used as normal, and its ATM machines will be operational for cash withdrawals and deposits, as normal.

However, other ATM functions, such as Own Account Transfers, will be unavailable.

Mike McWatt, Butterfield’s managing director of Cayman, said in the statement, “We are updating our existing systems over the weekend in an effort to minimise impact on our clients.

“We have given advance notice to clients directly to ensure they have had time to prepare. The update will improve performance and enhance security for a better overall banking experience both now and in the future.”

The bank advised clients to contact Butterfield’s Call Centre at (345) 949-7055 if they have any questions or concerns, and corporate and private banking clients to contact their relationship managers.
