Architect drawings for a proposed 10-storey apartment block next to the Cayman Pickleball Tennis Academy in West Bay have been published online.
They were made available on the Department of Planning site for public inspection for 21 days, as stipulated by the Development and Planning Act and Regulations.
The description of the plans includes an L-shaped condominium building on West Bay Road with a pool, pool deck, cabanas, amenity building, planter walls, LPG tank and standby generator.
The blueprints for ‘The Shores Condos’ were submitted by Blur Workshop, a design firm based in Atlanta, Georgia.
The site plan features large parking areas, a two-storey resident parking block, an arrival court, a yoga lawn, coffee shop, a barbecue area and planting.
Meanwhile, individual elevation drawings show self-contained one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with balconies.
The side views of the large building are also included in the blueprints.
The drawings were removed from the site after the 21 days on Friday, 17 Nov. They cannot be published without permission of the owner.
The blueprints, along with further details of the proposal, will now go to the Central Planning Authority, as part of a planning application, for discussion and a decision.
The application will be published in the agenda for the specific meeting on the authority’s website at www.planning.ky/cpa. The Compass has contacted Blur Workshop for further details and permission to publish the plans, and is awaiting a response.
The West Bay proposal is the latest in a string of 10-storey building applications that have been presented to the Central Planning Authority this year.
Developers have submitted a $60 million plan for a 10-storey apartment block with 38 apartments and a pool on the 1.4-acre beachfront site of Aqua Bay Club in West Bay.
The proposal has been sent to the National Conservation Council for review of any adverse effects that may be caused by the build.

Meanwhile, Dart’s development arm Cayman Shores Development have said they will soon be applying for permission to build a second 10-storey office block in Camana Bay.
The tower will be located directly next to 60 Nexus Way – the first 10-storey commercial building to be constructed in the Cayman Islands – which officially opened earlier this year.
And planning chiefs granted permission for the owners of The Westin to build a 10-storey hotel block with 234 guest rooms and a conference centre at its resort in Grand Cayman.
Invincible Investment Corporation’s $153 million expansion project also includes an offsite carpark with 350 spaces near Sunshine Suites, accessible using a shuttle or valet service.
