Robbers with hammer and knife target cyclist

Police are investigating a report of a man who was robbed while cycling on Sea View Road in East End early on Thursday morning.

The robbery occurred around 4:50am, police said.

“It was reported that a man had been riding a bicycle in the vicinity of Lover’s Wall when two masked men exited a small vehicle parked on the roadside,” the RCIPS said.

One of the masked men brandished a hammer at the man on the bicycle while the other masked man was carrying a knife, police said.

The two men robbed the victim of a quantity of cash, and then fled in their vehicle, heading west towards George Town.

No one was injured during the incident, police said.

The suspect who was carrying the hammer was described as being tall, and wearing a light-coloured shirt and a hat.
