Inquest to determine missing man’s cause of death

An inquest will be convened to determine what caused the death of Jamaican national Adrian Williamson whose remains were found in a secluded mangrove area in East End last November.

Williamson, 26, had been reported missing in July 2022.

The RCIPS, in response to queries from the Cayman Compass on the case, said recently that the matter will be moving to an inquest.

“However, at present, the circumstances of the death do not appear to be suspicious,” it added in its emailed response.

The discovery of the remains left East End residents rattled, however they were confident at that time the individual who was found was not someone from their community.

Williamson had been residing in George Town at the time of his disappearance and was last seen at his home on 6 July.

He was reported missing the following day.

His remains were found in the mangrove area of East End on 30 Nov.

Police had said an “expert anthropologist” was working with health officials to examine the body, in “an attempt to assist the investigation,” in early December when his identity was confirmed.
