An infant girl is among five individuals now in Customs and Border Control custody following the arrival of a vessel on Cayman Brac without clearance on Tuesday.
The vessel, found moored approximately 150 feet offshore on Cayman Brac, remains in Cayman waters at this time.
CBC, in response to Cayman Compass queries on the vessel, said on Thursday that three males and one female who were found aboard the vessel remain in detention.
“The infant is being cared for in accordance with the provisions of the Children Act and advice from the Children and Family Services Unit. This remains an active CBC led investigation,” it said.
The nationalities of the detained individuals have not been released.
The vessel was one of two reported to have landed in Cayman Brac without authorisation on Tuesday. Four men, who landed in Spot Bay Tuesday morning, are also in CBC custody.
