Police responded to a robbery report involving two cyclists on South Church Street near Thompson Drive around 12:30am Thursday.
“It was reported that a man was riding along South Church Street on his bicycle when another male cyclist collided with the rear of his bicycle causing him to fall, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries,” Royal Cayman Islands Police Service said in a press release.
The man did not attend the hospital for treatment. The second man then stole a blue backpack containing a cell phone and other items, police reported. The man escaped on bicycle towards Seafarers Way.
The suspect is described as 5ft 8in in height, dark brown complexion, and medium build. He may have been wearing a red t-shirt during the incident.
