Police have formally charged a 23-year-old Bodden Town man in relation to the murder of Divonte Hernandez last year.

The unnamed suspect was charged with being an accessory after the fact to the murder of Hernandez, who was fatally shot on Sound Way in George Town on 29 Sept. in broad daylight.

The 23-year-old suspect attended court on Wednesday and was remanded to custody.

Last November, George Orlando Senior, 35, entered a not guilty plea to a single charge of murder before the Grand Court. Police arrested the East End man on 18 Oct. and formally charged him with murder two days later.

Senior and Shaun Austin Connolly-Amaya allegedly gunned down Hernandez that September morning and drove away in a silver Honda Fit with false licence plates.

Connolly-Amaya, a 24-year-old West Bay man, also appeared in court last year but did not enter a plea at the time.

Additional arrests

Police have made several other arrests related to Hernandez’s murder.

In October, police also arrested a 32-year-old West Bay woman on suspicion of being an accessory after the fact. She received bail pending further investigation.

Earlier, police also arrested Maurice Ray Chin, 22, of Bodden Town, on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder. Though police did not formally charge Chin in relation to the Hernandez murder, they did charge him with possession of a prohibited weapon.
