A masked machete wielding man robbed patrons at a George Town bar on Tuesday night.
In a statement Friday, police said the incident happened shortly before 10pm.
Officers responded to a report of a robbery at a bar on Shedden Road near Main Street, where it was reported that a masked man carrying a machete ran through the outdoor area of the bar.
Several patrons ran off as the man approached. He then made off with personal items, which the fleeing patrons had left behind.
While at the scene of that incident, officers said they received a report of another robbery nearby.
The RCIPS said it was reported that a masked man, carrying a machete, had approached another man and demanded cash.
The masked man made off on foot with a quantity of cash.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
Police are operating on the assumption that both incidents are related. The suspect has been described as about 5’8” in height, and of medium build.
He was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, white and black shoes and a black mask.
The matter is currently under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact George Town CID at 949-4222.
