A female worker at the George Town landfill sustained minor injuries after slipping and falling into a container at the 24-hr landfill drop-off facility on Friday morning.
The DEH confirmed the incident happened around 9am and said it is reviewing its operational processes to ensure there is not a repeat of this occurrence.
Emergency services, it said in a statement, were immediately contacted and the employee was taken to the hospital for treatment.
“Preliminary reports indicated that the employee received minor cuts and bruises to her left and right hands as well as her right leg and ankle,” the statement said.
