The 2024 Touch World Cup concluded on 21 July with two debuting squads representing the Cayman Islands, finishing with victories over Samoa, the United States and Canada.
Cayman assembled 32 players split into two teams in Mixed 30 and Mixed Open divisions, where they played intense 20-minute games from 15-21 July in Nottingham, UK.
Mixed 30
In the Mixed 30, Cayman finished fifth out of nine teams in Pool A and seventh overall in the division, which featured 17 teams total.
Cayman got off to a good start on the 15 July, picking up a 9-5 win over Wales and beating Samoa 8-5. The following day, Cayman would lose 11-6 to Germany before England handed them a 16-7 loss.
The Cayman Mixed 30 squad got back to their winning ways on 17 July with an impressive 8-6 victory over the United States. They followed that up on the 18 July, dominating Hong Kong 12-2.
Cayman would then go on a two-game losing streak, first to France (11-5) and then to eventual winners Australia, who bested Cayman 17-nil. However, Cayman finished strong in their final match, cruising to a 9-3 win over Ireland.

Mixed Open
Over in the Mixed Open, arguably the tougher division, Cayman drew New Zealand, who finished runner-up in their first fixture. Cayman was thrashed 19-2 by New Zealand, followed by 13-7 defeat to South Africa.
Cayman would suffer their third consecutive loss, this time coming from the German team, who won 8-4. Cayman finally tasted victory on 17 July, edging out a 5-4 win against Chinese Taipei.
On the 18 July, the Cayman Mixed Open squad finished out their pool with two tough losses to Japan (9-4) and Scotland (12-4).
Cayman was then placed into the sixth-place finishers playoffs where they registered a 4-3 win over Portugal and an impressive 9-8 rally against Canada.
Their last match came against Ireland, where they suffered a 13-9 defeat.
