I wanted to take a moment to shine a light on something that is good and working well in government – our National Roads Authority.
As another tourist season kicks off with full roads and people hurrying about, I’m struck by how well our roads system is working. One need only visit smaller islands like St. Barts, or larger islands such as Jamaica or the Dominican Republic, to realise how fortunate we are to have a roads network that is constantly improved, well looked after and designed to meet the needs of a growing nation.
This isn’t an accident. It has taken people with passion and diligence and grit to bring us to this point. I don’t know who these people are, but they do, so I wanted to thank them for their contribution to our society and to let them know that their years of effort don’t go unnoticed or unappreciated.
