More than 13,500 homes and businesses were without electricity late Wednesday morning as large swathes of Grand Cayman experienced power outages.
The outage map on Caribbean Utilities Company’s website indicated that the outage affected several districts, from eastern George Town all the way to North Side, for several minutes before being restored around 11:15am.
In response to queries from the Compass, a CUC spokesperson said the cause of the power outage was being investigated.
According to the power outage map, as of 11:10am, 13,573 had been without power.
