Police have opened an investigation into the death of a man who was found unresponsive on the ground at a commercial premises on Tuesday morning in George Town.

The identity of the man has not been released.

An RCIPS statement said the man was 56-years-old and resident of Bodden Town.

The statement indicated that just after 7:10am on Tuesday 31 Dec. officers responded to a report of an unresponsive man who was found on the ground at a commercial premises on Middle Road, in George Town.

The statement did not indicate what injuries he had, how he may have died or if there were suspicious circumstances. The Compass is seeking clarification.

Emergency Medical Services personnel assessed the man at the scene. He showed no signs of life.

“The duty pathologist was called and attended the location where the man was officially pronounced deceased,” the RCIPS statement said.
