The Cayman contingent of golfers, consisting of Hastings and brothers Aaron and Andrew Jarvis, has been teeing off at the 10th annual championships held at Pilar Golf Club in Argentina since Thursday.

Only Hastings will continue playing for Cayman into the third and fourth rounds after his teammates were cut.

Only 50 players will advance through to the second half of the tournament and the Jarvis brothers, despite their valiant efforts, fell short.

On Friday, Hastings, who finished in the top five in the 2024 LAAC, was again swinging with purpose towards a podium placement, showing his strength against the very best amateurs in the region.

After a delay due to weather, Hastings returned to the green and shot 8-under par 65 on Friday to close the day with a top spot heading into Saturday, tying first with Peru’s Patrick Sparks.

For the 2022 champion Aaron Jarvis, his chances of reclaiming the championship came to a halt after finishing 4 over, 78, which ultimately wasn’t enough to make the cut.

The day prior, Aaron looked destined to advance with a promising opener with a two-under-par 70 and was inside the top 30.

His brother Andrew also has a tough day on the green, at 10 over after he shot 75 in round one and 79 in round two.

Tee time on Saturday begins at 7am Cayman time. All rounds will be streamed live on LAACgolf.com.
