February is the month where the fashion world comes alive with the latest trends, designs and collections by the biggest designer names across the globe. A group of young Caymanian women will be among the many models adorning them.

Georgina Kerford, Brianna Livingston, Tia McLaughlin and Isla Bishop are set to travel to London this month to attend its Fashion Week on 22 Feb. as representatives of the Cayman InStyle Fashion Week’s modelling agency.

“I am thrilled to announce our third year participating in the London Fashion Week show,” CEO of CIFW’s modelling agency Norma Ebanks told the Cayman Compass.

“Coming from a small island, this journey has been incredible, and I’m grateful to showcase our talented models on such prestigious platforms. Modelling is not just about the runway … It offers diverse opportunities, from photo shoots to magazine features. It can truly be a fulfilling career, and I extend my heartfelt thanks to The Fashion Life Tour for their partnership in making this possible.”

Bishop told the Compass, “I’m very excited to represent Cayman in London. I love modelling as it has helped me increase my self-confidence. It has allowed me to meet lots of new people with interesting backgrounds, and most importantly, it’s fun.”

Kerford said she is “honoured” to represent the Cayman Islands.

“This opportunity allows me to showcase the diversity and strength of Caymanian women on an international stage while continuing to pursue my dreams in modelling,” Kerford said.

“I am incredibly grateful to Ms. Norma Ebanks for her unwavering support and encouragement. Her guidance has been instrumental in my journey, and I am [looking] forward to making Cayman proud.”

For Livingston, it’s the second time representing Cayman in London’s Fashion Week.

“I am most looking forward to getting back on the runway, meeting people from different parts of the world and just having the opportunity to participate in London Fashion Week overall,” Livingston said.

“Modelling has allowed me to express myself in ways that I couldn’t have. It has built my confidence tremendously and it has helped me to embrace my insecurities.”

McLaughlin said modelling and photography have always been big passions of hers, and representing Cayman in London Fashion Week “feels like a dream come true”.

“This is my first time participating in London Fashion Week, and I’m excited to experience the scale of one of the biggest fashion shows in the world, as well as the incredible fashion and design on display,” McLaughlin said.

“For me, modelling is a creative outlet that allows me to express myself and showcase to the world what Caymanians look like, especially at a time when there has been little to no representation of people who look like me.”

Looking ahead to 2025, Ebanks said she is extending an invitation to anyone who believes they have what it takes to be the next face of the agency to reach out.

“Together, we can elevate your career and explore the many exciting avenues that modelling can offer,” Ebanks said.

“This journey reflects that with passion and dedication, anything is possible. I am proud of what we’ve achieved and can’t wait to see our models shine on the global stage of London!”
