The circumstances of the death of Judiann Myles, found in a burning car more than four weeks ago, have still not been determined, police said on Monday.

The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service said that officers awaited “results of specialist forensic examinations, which are expected to assist in clarifying the circumstances surrounding her death”.

A spokeswoman noted, “At this stage, no arrests have been made.”

The body of Myles, 47, who was head of the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority’s anti-money laundering division, was found on 3 April after reports to emergency services about a white Honda CR-V ablaze on open ground in the Lookout Gardens area of Bodden Town.

Police said earlier this month that they had reviewed hundreds of hours of CCTV footage, interviewed “witnesses and associates” and that forensic and fire scene examinations had been carried out.

Police added that officers had also “executed digital and financial inquiries”.
