A Sickle Cell Support Group meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, 17 June 2025, from 5:30pm to 7:00pm in the Hibiscus Conference Room at the Health Services Authority.
This session will feature Dr. Anna Matthews, who will share comprehensive information about sickle cell disorder, covering its impact on adults and children. The meeting is open to the public, and all interested individuals are encouraged to attend.
The Sickle Cell Support Group is a safe and welcoming space for individuals living with sickle cell disease and their families to come together, share experiences and receive support. It usually meets twice a year and is organised by the genetic coordinator in the Public Health Department.
These meetings are designed to provide emotional and social support, share useful information about managing sickle cell disease and help affected individuals and their families feel less alone by connecting with others who understand their journey.
They also offer an opportunity to ask questions and engage with health care professionals.
