Carey Olsen is pleased to announce that it has promoted Cayman Islands trusts and private wealth lawyer Graham Stoute to the partnership with effect from 1 July 2025, as part of its group-wide promotions round.

Stoute is based in Carey Olsen’s Cayman Islands office and advises private and institutional clients on the establishment, re-organisation and administration of Cayman and British Virgin Islands trusts and trust structures, including STAR and VISTA trusts, private trust and foundation companies, commercial trust arrangements and charitable trusts.

Stoute advises generally on wills and estate/succession planning, probate and resealing applications, the administration of complex estates and a range of regulatory matters, including AEOI planning and compliance, data protection, financial sanctions and beneficial ownership registers.

Managing partner of Carey Olsen’s Cayman Islands office, Sam Dawson, said: “I am delighted to welcome Graham to the partnership. Graham is an excellent lawyer: technically skilled, highly knowledgeable, and personable with both clients and colleagues. He has demonstrated real dedication to the firm and his work since joining our team in Cayman, which I have no doubt will continue in his new role as partner. I wish him every success going forwards.”

Stoute said: “Joining the Carey Olsen partnership marks an exciting new chapter at the firm for me, and I am grateful to all those who have helped me to reach this point. We strive to deliver excellent service for our clients, and I look forward to working with our fantastic teams both in Cayman and in the BVI to do exactly that.”
