There’s finally a beer about which dogs and cats can agree.

The Cayman Islands Brewery – better known as Caybrew – has launched Paws Ale, a limited-edition pale ale crafted in support of the Cayman Islands Humane Society.

The light-bodied beverage presents tropical fruit notes with a hint of citrus and has a low alcohol-by-volume of 3.8%, making it a good option for drinking with lunch, on the beach, by the pool or anywhere by the sea.

Perhaps the best part of Paws Ale is that $3 out of of every case sold is donated to the Humane Society to supports its efforts to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome Cayman’s neglected or homeless cats and dogs, said a press release from Caybrew.

“Each can features a whimsical illustration of a cat and dog on the beach, along with a QR code that makes it easy for consumers to donate directly to the [Humane Society],” Caybrew said in the release.

Craig Webster, Caybrew’s general manager, commented on the partnership with the Humane Society.

“The team at Caybrew are huge animal lovers, and supporting CIHS aligns with our commitment to community initiatives,” he said.

Samantha Peterson, a member of the Humane Society’s board of directors who chairs its fundraising committee, expressed gratitude for the collaboration.

“We’re incredibly grateful for this partnership,” she said. “It brings vital resources to support our mission and helps shine a much-needed light on the welfare of homeless cats and dogs across the Cayman Islands.”

To celebrate the launch of Paws Ale, Caybrew will kick things off with a ‘Yappy Hour’ and dog wash event from 2-6pm on Saturday, 12 July at Sunset House. There will also be ongoing incentives for dog walkers, encouraging the public to help walk shelter dogs.

Paws Ale hits the shelves in early July and will be available at the Caybrew Taproom and local retailers.
