With the first round officially in the books, the focus shifted to the action of round two of the 2026 Cayman Islands Watercraft Association National Tour.

On 31 May, the high-speed jet ski action moved to Colliers Public Beach in East End, drawing hundreds of spectators who gathered to watch 36 riders battle it out across five competitive classes.

With championship points on the line, a diverse fleet of returning champions, rising stars, seasoned veterans, first-time racers and international competitors battled through challenging weather conditions.

Winners emerge

In the Naturally Aspirated Lite division, Devonte McLaughlin of Mazzy Motorsport 345 remained undefeated, capturing his second consecutive class victory.

He was followed by second-place finisher Rene Ortega of M.O.B. Racing, the 2024 Beginner Class Champion, while first-year racer Ryan Avendano of Hi-Voltage Racing celebrated his very first podium finish of his CIWA National Tour career with third.

The Naturally Aspirated Open saw the visiting Bahamian competitor Reno Deveaux, representing Mazzy Motorsport 345, rise to the top of the podium in his first CIWA Tour appearance.

William Ebanks, a first-year competitor of Northside Racing, celebrated his first career podium finish by taking second place, while Cameron Medina of Hi-Voltage Racing made a comeback, bouncing back from a fifth-place finish in round one to securing third in the second round.

In the Novice Stock class, Max Lawrence of KY1 Motorsports continued his dominant run by taking his second consecutive class win.

Lawrence narrowly edged out Osberne Scott of Northside Racing, who took his second straight runner-up finish.

Rookie Travis Whittaker of Law Marine Tech rounded out the Novice Stock podium with a third-place finish in his debut season.

In the Amateur Limited class, Tyler Watler of the Dream Team overcame a dead-engine start to fight his way back and capture his second consecutive first-place finish of the season.

Brandon Elliott of Hi-Voltage Racing leaped from a fifth-place finish in the opening round to securing second place, while CJ Wisdom of Northside Racing secured another podium finish with third.

The Pro Open class saw Cline Glidden III of Mazzy Motorsport 345 and the 2025 Pro Open runner-up, claim the top spot.

US competitor Benjamin Mantel representing Hi-Voltage Racing, rode to second to claim another podium finish while Nathan Ebanks of Tony’s Toys Watercraft Racing rounded out the podium securing his second consecutive third-place finish.

As the season progresses, riders continue to battle for overall championship honours and the opportunity to represent Cayman at the IJSBA World Finals in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, this October.

There are two rounds remaining, with the tour returning to South Sound for round three on 21 June, before concluding with the final round on 19 July.
