Three Blackhawk military helicopters arrived in Grand Cayman on the evening of Friday, 12 June, to refuel before taking off again the next day.
In response to a request for information from the Compass, a spokesperson from the Governor’s Office said on Tuesday, “The three helicopters are US aircraft transiting via Cayman to support humanitarian efforts in the region.”
The Governor’s Office offered no further details of the arrival.
Grand Cayman is routinely utilised as a refuelling stop for US military’s aircraft.
