Police are investigating the theft of a cellphone from two people sitting in a car parked on a George Town street.
Police said the incident happened just after 10.30am on Wahoo Close on 17 June, when a man opened the car door and demanded property.
One of the occupants was struck with what police described as “an object” and the robber escaped with a cell phone.
Police said the injured individual was treated at the Anthony S. Eden Hospital in George Town for what did not appear to be life-threatening injuries.
The robber was said to be of medium build, about 5′ 10″ and with a fair complexion.
The investigation is ongoing and police are appealing for anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the Wahoo Close area around the time of the incident to contact George Town Police Station on 949 4222.
