Walkers hosted engaging Spotlight Series discussion on financial services resilience and reputation

Walkers, the international legal and professional services firm, recently hosted their latest Spotlight Series event, ‘Resilience and Reputation in Financial Services’, at the University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI). The session brought together students, professionals and staff for an insightful discussion on navigating today’s evolving financial landscape.

The event featured presentations from senior counsel Onyema Ugorji of the firm’s Finance team and Emily Hirsch, Digital Marketing and Communications manager for the Americas. Together, they explored the importance of resilience in the financial services industry, specifically in the Cayman Islands, and provided practical guidance on building and maintaining a strong professional reputation.

Attendees gained valuable insights from Onyema on how individuals and organisations can adapt to emerging economic pressures, such as artificial intelligence and cyber security, while positioning themselves for long-term success. Emily shared actionable strategies for developing a personal brand, including effective use of networking platforms such as LinkedIn, and highlighted the critical role reputation plays in career advancement and industry credibility.

‘We are delighted to continue our partnership with UCCI and their engaged student body,’ said Layla Eden, Learning & Development manager. ‘Supporting the next generation of professionals and fostering meaningful dialogue around resilience and reputation is something Walkers is proud to champion.’

The event forms part of Walkers’ ongoing Spotlight Series, an initiative aimed at providing educational opportunities and industry insights to students and early-career professionals. Walkers extends its thanks to UCCI for hosting the session and to all attendees who contributed to the dynamic discussion.
