Walkers adds to its full house of Band 1 Cayman Islands practice groups in 2024 Chambers Global Guide with new Regulatory category

The Cayman Islands law team at Walkers, the international legal and professional services firm, has maintained the coveted Band 1 status for Investment Funds, Corporate & Finance, and Dispute Resolution in the prestigious Chambers and Partners 2024 Global Guide.

Furthermore, in the first year that Chambers has introduced Financial Services: Regulatory as a standalone category, Walkers has earned Band 1 status, resulting in top rankings across all four practices. The status of the Walkers Cayman Regulatory group is elevated further by Regulatory partner Lucy Frew’s ranking as the only Band 1 regulatory lawyer the Cayman Islands.

Across the Americas, Walkers’ practice groups in its Cayman Islands, Bermuda and British Virgin Islands (BVI) offices earned five Band 1 rankings and four Band 2 rankings in the 2024 Global Guide, which is based on in-depth independent research involving detailed analysis and interviews with clients and peers.

Twenty-four Walkers lawyers in the Cayman Islands are ranked in the Guide, including global managing partner, Ingrid Pierce, and Cayman Islands managing partner, Rob Jackson, who both received the top Eminent Practitioner ranking. Four partners are rated ‘Up and Coming’ and the firm has three ‘Associates to watch’ in the Guide, reflecting the firm’s commitment to developing the next generation of talented lawyers.

Overall, 74 Walkers partners and 26 practice groups are ranked this year, spanning the firm’s six jurisdictions of law and 10 offices across the Americas, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. This is significantly higher than any other firm in our market.

Being ranked Band 1 for Regulatory with the only Band 1 ranked regulatory lawyer in the Cayman Islands, is welcome recognition of the investment we have made in our Global Regulatory and Risk Advisory group. The fact that we have maintained our Band 1 designation across all four categories reflects our commitment to delivering first-class service to clients.”

This year marks 60 years since Walkers opened it door as a firm. Originally founded in the Cayman Islands, Walkers is proud to continue its tradition of client first service.
