Baptist Health International officials said a new PET/CT scanner they expect to have installed and ready to operate in the coming weeks will mean many Cayman Islands cancer patients will no longer have to travel abroad to access the diagnostic tool.

Baptist Health South Florida urologist Dr. Daniel Martinez will make presentations at men’s cancer awareness lectures this week. The lectures are hosted by the Cayman Islands Cancer Society, Lions Club of Cayman Islands and Baptist Health International.

For years, the Cayman Heart Fund has been working to reduce the instance and impact of cardiovascular disease in the Cayman Islands. Two events this weekend aim to support its cause.
