Summerfest welcomes everyone on June 19
The Bodden Town Heritage Committee is inviting the public to Summerfest on Monday, June 19 – the Queen’s Birthday public holiday. The event, which will take place at the Bodden Town Harry McCoy Sr. Community Park from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., will feature a fancy hat parade, local and international performances and musical acts.
Seniors treated to Christmas dinner at Harry McCoy Park
The women of the Bodden Town Heritage Committee hosted a Christmas dinner for seniors at Bodden Town’s Harry McCoy Sr. Park on Dec. 18.
Bodden Town gears up for Heritage Day
The Bodden Town Heritage Committee has something special in store for visitors attending Monday’s Bodden Town Heritage Day. “What better place for tourists to embrace the rich cultural heritage of the Caymanian people than in Bodden Town?” asked Mary Lawrence.
‘It’s a partnership with the community’: Prisoners work for a good cause
A group of Northward Prison inmates were in Bodden Town recently, helping to spruce up some outdoor areas. The prisoners carried out cleanup work at the Harry McCoy Sr. Park, Nurse Josie’s Senior Centre and Heritage House. As well as tidying up certain areas, the inmates also removed old and rotted thatch from cabana roofs in the park.
