Butterfield has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the Channel Islands-based banking business of ABN AMRO Bank N.V. through its wholly owned subsidiary Butterfield Bank (Guernsey) Limited.

Maples and Calder said it now provides Jersey legal services in the corporate, finance and investment funds areas, as well as listing agent services for the listing of securities on the International Stock Exchange in the Channel Islands.
