Pushing back on bullying problem
For one 12-year-old Cayman boy, the bullying at his school this past year had gotten so bad he could not take it any more. In the quiet of his bedroom, in desperation, he looped a shoelace around his neck and tightened it, trying to take his own life.
Department of Counselling Services gets new home
The Department of Counselling Services and two of its units have a new home. The DCS is now located at 87 West Apollo House on Mary Street, George Town.
Resource Centre client receives special grant
The Ministry of Community Affairs’ Gender Affairs Unit and the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Grand Cayman have given the Family Resource Centre $1,200 for a grant to help a young Caymanian pursue her higher education dreams. The recipient, who is not being named for confidentiality reasons, will be given the cheque privately.
