A fresh appeal for information on a mass shooting at a football match that happened just over a year ago was made on Monday.

The government and Crime Stoppers are offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of robbers involved in the recent spate of armed robberies on Grand Cayman.

Crime Stoppers reported Monday that it had paid an anonymous tipster US$3,000 after the person gave information last month that led to an arrest and criminal charges against a suspect wanted by police.

Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce members are offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of armed robbers who held up an armored car at Foster’s Food Fair on April 8.

Cayman Crime Stoppers is trying to determine how well its message is getting out to the general public.

An $8,000 reward is being offered for further information about a January robbery in North Side where a homeowner was beaten and threatened with a knife, police said.

A man was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of smuggling after the crew of the police helicopter spotted a suspicious vessel two miles north of Cayman, the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service reported.
