It’s one of the shortest streets on Grand Cayman, but how Friendly Lane got its name is a big mystery.

When members of the Committee to Elect Edward Chisholm started their latest North Side beautification project, they found a pleasant surprise. Their project was the repainting of the concrete and wood fence that borders Jerald Smith Park on Hutland Road.

At least four, and potentially five political coalitions or political parties are readying to contest the Cayman Islands general election on May 24. Both major political parties, the Progressives and the Cayman Democratic Party, intend to field a slate of candidates.
