Plans to restore the severely eroded beach in front of the Marriott resort in Grand Cayman moved a step closer.

The Grand Cayman Marriott resort is seeking approval to restore some 60-foot of beach in front of the hotel.

With the beach in front of its hotel eroding, the Marriott has begun taking its guests to a stretch of Seven Mile Beach further north, which is owned by the Dart group.

More than 400 people filled the Marriott ballroom on June 1 for the Cayman National Choir’s 40th anniversary concert.
