CITA throws Christmas bash for Pines

On Friday, 17 December the residents of the Pines Retirement home, Pines Staff, CITA Office and Directors celebrated the spirit and festivities of Christmas.

This joyful occasion is an annual event organised and sponsored by the Cayman Islands Tourism Association, states a CITA press release.

The Pines residents had the pleasure of feasting on different Christmas delicacies such as ham, turkey, wood-roasted chicken, cranberry sauce, cole slaw, rice, and a plethora of other items. For dessert, the residents enjoyed fruit salads, tarts, rum cake, and a highlight for the evening – cream wheat heavy cake! For that item, the residents made a special request that we do not forget them and to keep on bringing the heavy cakes for them to enjoy.

Casandra Hibbert, CITA’s Assistant Director noted that ‘this event was a special and dear one to us all here at the CITA as we wanted to welcome the residents back into their home as well as celebrating the wonders and life of the Christmas season. CITA Restaurant members outdid themselves this year with the feast that was prepared, and we say a big thank you to them all. It was great the way that many of them came together after their own hardships and wanted to give something back to the community.’
