Legislative Assembly starts Thursday

The fifth meeting of the 2004/2005 Session of the Legislative Assembly will begin at 10 am Thursday.

Among the items on the agenda are the Development and Planning Regulations (2004) to be tabled by the Minister of Planning Julianna O’Connor-Connolly, and the Financial Reporting Authority’s annual report for the period ending 30 June, 2004 to be brought to the table by Attorney General Sam Bulgin.

Bills being introduced will include the Development and Planning (Amendment) Bill (2004), the Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands Bill (2004) and the Tax Information Authority Bill (2004)

Other items slated to be dealt with are an amendment to the Traffic Law that will introduce graduated driver’s licences to teenagers, and the chairmanship of the Public Transportation Board.

There will also be several financial matters dealt with during the Session.

Leader of Government Business McKeeva Bush said he anticipates days in the House, possibly until 10 pm at night, to get through the busy agenda.
