Sunshine Suites gets new GM

Wyndham Sunshine Suites has announced a new General Manager, Mr. Frank Givens.

A press release from the resort reads, ‘A veteran in the hospitality industry, Mr. Givens recently assumed this position after relocating to the Cayman Islands from the state of Missouri where he was the Director of Resort Programs/General Manager of an AAA Four-Diamond Hotel and Spa’.

During his career in the hospitality industry, Mr. Givens has had the opportunity to develop and renovate numerous multi-million dollar hotels. His background also includes Chief Operating Officer of a national company responsible for management of condominiums and time-shares. His experience as Regional Director of Business and Development for an international hotel chain has afforded him the opportunity to broaden his background in marketing, strategic rate planning and hotel operations, said the release.

Commenting on his appointment as General Manager at Wyndham Sunshine Suites Givens said, ‘I am very pleased to have been chosen for this position. I look forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead of us when we reopen this special hotel in May 2005. Having experienced only a few days on the island, my first impression is that my family and I will greatly enjoy living in this multi-cultural community and getting to know the Cayman Islands and its people.’

No stranger to hard work, Mr. Givens has also served as President of the Missouri Hotel and Lodging Association and received the ‘Most Valuable Volunteer’ award in 2002 from the American Hotel and Lodging Association. He is also planning to become actively involved in the community and the local tourism industry. He likes to stay fit and active through regular visits to the gym and looks forward to scuba diving in such a beautiful setting, according to the release.

Mr. Givens is married and has three sons
